Charles Gaines is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on October 3, 1992 in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. After his season’s conclusion, the player said that he would not use his eligibility and apply for in the 2014 NFL Draft.
On July 31, 2017, Gaines signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was waived/injured on August 20, 2017 and placed on injured reserve. He was released on August 25, 2017.
Gaines was chosen to the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round, 189th overall from the 2014 NFL Draft. In May of 2015 Gaines signed a four-year $2.402 million deal with the Browns and was also awarded the signing bonus of $122,137. On September 3 the 3rd of September, 2016 he was released from the Browns.
Gaines redshirted as a freshman in 2011 after signing up in the beginning of January along with Teddy Bridgewater. In 2012 being a wide-receiver Gaines caught 11 passes for the distance of 172 yards and a touchdown, but he missed the last five games because of a suspension, the second suspension of the year. He was back with the team in April of 2013, when the position was changed to cornerback. He was a part of the entire 13 games, with 11 starts. He was credited with 22 tackles as well as an all-time high of five interceptions. He also earned first-team All American Athletic Conference (AAC) recognition. The year 2014 saw him was a starter in eleven games with the Cardinals with 36 tackles and two interceptions.
On December 7, 2016, Gaines was signed to the Bills’ practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Bills on January 2, 2017. Gaines was waived by the Bills on May 25, 2017.
